The UAE government has revealed the amount of gold allowed to be carried through Dubai airports.

The UAE government has specified ways to obtain official permits to carry gold at the airport legally, to avoid legal accountability.

The amount of gold allowed to travel in Dubai

The government explained that the amount of gold allowed to travel from Dubai Airport in the UAE is about 200 grams.

The government demanded that you disclose the amount of gold you are carrying at the airport, whether you are arriving or departing.

Obtaining gold permits in the UAE

1- To obtain electronic permits from the UAE Customs Department, to obtain the necessary permits to take gold to and from the airport.

2- You must enter the customs website and fill out all the details of the form related to the gold declaration so that the customs administration can then send a copy of it to the person traveling via email.

3- Print it and present it upon arrival at the airport.

4- Travelers can also obtain the necessary permits upon arrival at the airport, and declare the amount of gold at the Customs Department office, while presenting all documents proving your ownership of the gold and its source, to obtain a permit to enter the gold without problems.

Conditions for exemption from customs duties at UAE airports

  • The luggage and gifts must be of a personal nature and in non-commercial quantities.
  • The traveler must not be a frequenter of the customs office or a professional trader.
  • He must not be a member of the transportation crew.
  • Cigarette, tobacco, and alcoholic beverage products are not permitted to be imported or exempted for those 18 years of age or younger.
